I’m Mary Ann and I am so excited to be the newest editor/publisher for Macaroni Kid Amherst/Northampton. I own and operate Mary Ann’s Dance and More, a dance apparel store in Easthampton, MA.
Married since 1992 to my husband Rick, we have 2 children – Katelyn (26yrs.) and Michael (11 yrs.). A graduate of Elms College with a Liberal Arts Degree, I started working in the hotel/restaurant industry in accounting, moving on to be an administrative assistant at a preparatory school in the Public Relations and Development Offices. After my daughter was born in 1994, I stayed at home and worked as an Avon Independent Sales Representative. I was also the leader of her girl scout troop and served as “Cookie Mom” for several years. As she reached school age, I worked as the Administrative Assistant at her elementary school. In 2007, I began working for a local dance studio as the office manager. That is where the inspiration to open the store came. In 2009, we completed MAP training and became foster parents to our son, Michael.
